Council Meetings

6:30 p.m. at the Fairgrounds. Officers arrive at 6:00 p.m. Attendance is important, please send your delegates!

Clubs

  • Blue Ribbon Wranglers—third Friday, 6:00 pm at the fairgrounds.
  • High Country—second Sunday, 4:30 pm at the fairgrounds
  • Pecos Wilderness Spurs—first Sunday,1:00 pm at the sheriff’s posse building, Pecos.
  • Skyline Trailblazers-Last Sunday, 1:00 pm, American Legion, Pecos.
  • Valley Hotshots—first Sunday, 4:00 pm at the Ribera Community Center.
  • Watrous 4-H - Second Sunday, 6:00 pm, at the Watrous Firehouse

Enrollment

The current 4-H year is Oct. 1, 2025-Sept. 30, 2026.

4-H Good Standing Requirements:

  • Re-Enrolls in a 4-H Club by Jan. 15th or March 1st for new members.
  • Attends 50% of all club meetings held between Oct. 1 & Sept. 30.
  • San Miguel club bylaws require 50%
  • Must have attended 6 or more meetings/club activities to participate in county, district, or state events.
  • Fair Assoc. Requires members to be in Good Standing to participate at county fair.

Members may enroll after these dates, but participation in county, district, or state events will be at the discretion of the 4-H Agent and Club leader.

2025-26 San Miguel County 4-H

New Enrollment begins October

4-H is the largest youth development program in the nation. This program has allowed young people to develop leadership skills, talents and gifts for over 100 years. With over 60 projects offered, 4-H has something for everyone! If you have questions, please feel free to call our office at 505-494-1497 or stop by at 20 Gallegos Rd

San Miguel Enrollment deadlines: Members must be enrolled by the following. dates to be in good standing.

  • Returning Members: January 15th
  • New Members March 1st

Projects may be added or deleted until May 1st by contacting the SM CES Office.

Members may enroll after these dates, but will not be considered in good standing. Participation in county, district, or state events will be at the discretion of the Agent and Club leaders and will be determined based on timelines, participation, a case by case basis.

Age Requirements

4-H Membership Requirements

4-H programming in New Mexico addresses the needs and interests of young people. Any girl or boy age 5 through 18 years of age, who enrolls in the 4-H Youth Development Program of the Cooperative Extension Service is a 4-H member. The 4-H program year is October 1 through September 30. The following guidelines address specific age requirements for the 4-H program:

 

Cloverbud Novice Junior Senior
Grade* Kinder, 1st, 2nd 3rd, 4th, 5th 6th, 7th 8th and up
Age as of January 1 of the current 4-H Year (October-September) 5, 6, 7 - 8 year olds in the 2nd grade 8 year olds in the 3rd grade, 9 year olds, 10 year olds, 11 year olds in the 5th grade 11 year olds in the 6th grade; 12 year olds; 13 year olds in the 7th grade 13 year olds in the 8th grade; 14 year olds; 15 year olds; 16 year olds; 17 year olds; 18 year olds; Youth who are 19 by December 31 of the current 4-H year are not eligible to enroll as a 4-H member.

2025-26 4-H RECORD BOOKS

Due to San Miguel County Extension office by third Friday, OCTOBER 2026, 5:00 pm to receive your project completion pin.

Three projects will be judged and high point award will be given to each age category. Cloverbuds will not be judged but all completed Cloverbud record books will receive a completion pin.

**All State Qualifying Indoor Exhibits that need to be remade, floral, baking etc., need to be delivered to the San Miguel CES Office by 9/8/26 by 8:30 AM. Late items will not be eligible.
